Simulating a hug when you need it.
Developed by Vayence Inc, ProActive is a reusable, self-inflating vest for people with autism and sensory sensitivities.
When its sensors pick up rising stress, the vest inflates to apply deep pressure, then deflates once the wearer is calm.

How it works -
How it feels
Firm, even pressure, similar to a hug.
The problem
Sensory overload happens in everyday places. Classrooms, grocery stores, transit and waiting rooms can all trigger it. These moments are hard to predict, and most existing products are either ineffective, too intrusive, or can’t respond when overload actually happens.
Sensory overwhelm.
It can happen anywhere.
Everyday triggers
- Sound Loud or sudden noise.
- Light Bright or flickering lights.
- Crowds Busy, crowded spaces.
- Touch Uncomfortable fabrics and unexpected contact.
